Demián Arancibia

Demián Arancibia: He is a civil Industrial Engineer from the University of Chile and holds a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering from the Cornell University, United States. He actively collaborated in the construction of the ALMA observatory, in the north of Chile, and in the operations of the United States National Radio-astronomy Observatory in New Mexico, USA.

Actually, Demián works in the promotion of digital economy in Chile and he is the Executive Director of the Astroinformatics Initiative of the Ministry of Economy, whose mission is to identify and initiate investments that will increase the capacity to work with data in the Chilean industry, using the unique conditions of Chile for Astronomy. In addition, Demián is a professor at Systems Engineering, currently in programs taught by the University of Chile and Cornell University.
